  • On February 11th, Greg C. Adams provides a early history of the banjo, from its origins as an African American folk instrument, through its 19th century transformation into American popular culture. Greg C. Adams is a prize winning banjoist, archivist (MLS), and researcher who is currently pursuing a Masters degree in Ethnomusicology at the University of Maryland. This brownbag event will take place in the Student Involvement Suite of the Stamp at 12 PM. Bring your lunch! BDula@umd.edu.

  • The Art & Learning Center Presents the Influence of Art in Hip-Hop! This two part event will take place Thursday February 25th and Friday, February 26th from 5pm to 7pm, Stamp Atrium. It includes a panel discussion led by dancers, writers, and other members of the Hip-Hop community, and an interactive dance workshop. FREE!

  • Registration for MOSAIC 2010 is now open - MOSAIC is a two-day, one-night weekend retreat focused on exploring the relationship between diversity and leadership.
