The Research Port is an online resource to help access databases, e-journals from on and off campus, search multiple databases, full-text articles and create personal space for saving your articles and past searches. To learn more go to the Library's Research Portal page or attend a free workshop about the Portal sponsored by the Office of Information Technology www.training.umd.edu. Pre-registration required.
Survival Guide: Museums, Archives, & Libraries
The Art History and Archeology department has compiled a guide intended as an introduction to research collections in art history in the Washington, D.C. and Baltimore metropolitan areas. However, the guide contains enough general information on places like the National Archives to be useful to researchers from other disciplines.

Need Campus Libarary Access During a Leave of Absence?
Students who are seeking a leave of absence may also obtain borrowing privileges at the libraries, without charge, when they submit a letter from their Dean. For more information, please contact Simin Jahangiri in room 1141A, McKeldin Library (ext. 59091)

People who are not affiliated with the University, such as corporations, foundations, non-profit organiazations, and individuals, are eligible to become Friends of the Libraries. A minimum tax-deductible donation of $150 per year gives such people borrowing privileges at the campus libraries. It does not, however, permit remote access to library facilities.
To become a Friend, please contact Kathie Packer at ext. 45674.

Important note on recalls:

If your address changes while at Maryland, updating your address with Testudo will not change your the address on file at the library. You don't want to be charged for a recalled book that you didn't return because you didn't receive the recall notice.
