24 Hour Police Escort Service
The University Police provides an escort service for anyone who feels unsafe when walking across campus.

NITE Ride Bus
For a curb-to-curb ride after Security Service Routes have stopped call N.I.T.E. RIDE at (301) 314-NITE. Hours of operation are 5:30 p.m. and 7:30 a.m. Passengers will not receive a NITE Ride if their start and end points are on a route. Transfers will be regularly monitored
by Public Safety during the non-daylight hours and strictly enforced by the dispatcher.

Fire Safety Information
The Fire Marshal's Office is responsible for, among other things, providing fire safety education and training on campus. Programs include: fire exit drills; fire safety education for students, faculty, and staff; fire inspections of campus buildings and public assembly events, emergency procedure planning and training, fire data analysis, code consultation, general fire safety issue consultation, coordination and issuance of required permits, fire investigations (investigations involving crimes are coordinated with UMPD).

Department of Environmental Safety
The Department of Environmental Safety provides technical, regulatory, and related management services to the University of Maryland community in order to achieve a safe and healthful campus environment in compliance with environmental and life safety regulations and standards. DES areas include: Biological Safety, Environmental Affairs, Fire Marshal's Office, Occupational Safety and Health, Radiation Safety, Risk Management and Communication, Code Services/Natural Resource Permitting.

"Are You Sure It's Secure" Video
Campus Police has helped create a theft prevention video, "Are You Sure It's Secure", explores ways you can reduce the likelihood of losing property to thieves. Many of the theft prevention suggestions described in this video are both simple and cost effective

The video is on sale to the general public for $25.00 plus $5.00 S&H.
