Personal & Social Counseling
The Counseling Center provides students with 12 free counseling sessions. A non-student can receive one free intake session to receive advice, and, if necessary, a referral. The process is confidential (there are some exceptions) and a person doesn't have to do anything he/she might be uncomfortable doing. Both students and non-students need to start by calling (301) 314-7651 and asking the receptionist to schedule an intake session. There will be some paperwork to fill out and the intake session will last about 45 minutes. Intakes are done by senior staff members (psychologists) or doctoral interns. See their web page to learn more about the personal and group counseling services they provide.
