Graduate Family Events

Graduate Family Events

Each semester, Graduate Student Life sponsors programs geared toward graduate student parents and their children. Past events include a summer pool party, a Halloween pumpkin painting party and a graduate parents forum.

Fall 2007

  • FAMILY PUMPKIN PAINTING AND HALLOWEEN PARTY: FRIDAY, OCT. 26, 5:00-7:00PM
Did you know that about 1,500 grad students at Maryland have children? The Office of Graduate Student Life appreciates the challenges facing grad students with families of their own, so we are throwing a party in your honor. Kids and parents of all ages are welcome to gear up for Halloween with pumpkin painting, a balloon artist, treats, and good company on Friday, Oct. 26, 5:00-7:00pm in the Art and Learning Center in The Stamp. Costumes are encouraged! This event is free! Sponsored by Graduate Student Life, Off-Campus Student Involvement, and the Art and Learning Center. If you have any questions, please contact Julie Choe Kim at yckim2@umd.edu.

Spring 2007

  • FAMILY VALENTINE'S DAY PARTY: FRIDAY, FEB. 2, 3:00-5:00PM
Students with children of all ages are invited to celebrate Valentine's Day early with the Office of Graduate Student Life. Make Valentine’s Day cards and other fun crafts, create a masterpiece with spin art, get your favorite animal in balloon form from a balloon artist, and enjoy treats and good company on Friday, Feb. 2, 3:00-5:00pm in the Art and Learning Center in the basement of Stamp Student Union. This event is free! If you have any questions, please contact Julie Choe Kim at 301-314-9544 or yckim2@umd.edu.

Co-sponsored by the Art and Learning Center and Off-Campus Student Involvement.
