NOW HIRING!
Part-time Student Office Assistant Position Available for Summer 2008 in the MICA Office.
Hours: 15-25 hrs/wk (between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm)
Potential for Fall 2008 employment
Are you web savvy? Are you interested in helping to organize the Hispanic Heritage Month calendar and events? MICA is looking for a student office assistant to work on the HHM calendar, update and maintain the website, and assist with daily office duties for the summer. Good computer skills, excellent oral and written communication and outstanding customer service attitude essential.

These job announcements are for college students and/or adults to come work with the UPO Summer Youth Employment program. We are looking for energetic, creative, committed people for these positions. If you know of anyone qualified and interested, please have them apply ASAP.
POSITION: Program Associate (4 openings)
DEPARTMENT: Summer Youth Employment Program/Youth Services Division

SALARY RANGE: $15/hour

Brief Description: To provide student oversight and activity planning and coordination. Provide monitoring and evaluation of program participants; guide participants in development of summer projects and portfolios; prepare correspondence, flyers, and other materials as directed; assist program staff with receiving and replying to calls and inquires from parents, DOES and UPO partners; assist I preparing and collecting client’s time and attendance sheets.
Minimum Qualification: High school diploma or equivalent; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite; 2 years or more of work experience in an office setting; excellent interpersonal, organizational skills both written and verbal.
Note: This is a full-time temporary position. This position requires the ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screening. Job offer will be made upon receipt of Grant if chosen for this position. This position is NOT in the collective bargaining unit.

POSITION: Postsecondary Education Coordinator
DEPARTMENT: Summer Youth Employment Program/Youth Services Division

Brief Description: Plan and facilitate postsecondary education activities for summer youth. Assist in developing and facilitating a 2 week postsecondary education awareness program; interface with local colleges, trade schools, apprenticeship programs to bring information and sponsor trips; guide students in the development of a summer postsecondary education portfolio; assist in preparing and collecting client’s time and attendance sheets.
Minimum Qualification: College degree or advancement towards a degree a must; knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and 2 years or more of work experience in an office setting; excellent interpersonal, organizational skills both written and verbal.
